RE: Motor died
Mine did something similar a few years back... open your distributor cap,
and look if your rotor is still in one piece (think I am kidding eh...)
Mine had a weird break, at the plate that crosses from center hub to edge
plate... it was melted. thank god AutoZone was 3 blocks away, got new cap
and rotor, closed the hood and car started like new. take a look ya never
know. if that isn't it, then unplug center cap plug and have someone turn
over the engine while holding the cable near the body (ground) of the car,
you should see a spark if not... coil dead.

Subject: Motor died
On my way to work,Friday. Light turns green, I accelerate , and about 50
yards, the car just dies. Car is nomally in excellent shape.1/2 tank of
gas, no indication that anything was wrong. Had been driving on the
highway, then stuck in traffic on the service road for 5 minutes before
this happened, so the car was hot. When I tried to start it, it cranked
but didn't catch.Pulled the fuel pump relay and jumped the 2 leads.
Heard the pump run but still didn't catch. Fuel problem?Spark? ....Any
ideas?
