Re: volt decrease Q?

MuHaahahahahahahah.....

Welcome to Dr. FrankenBerk's Little Shop of the Free Electron!

(damn, not enough late afternoon hutzpa to continue in character.)

Anyway. We need to confirm what your Alt's amp rating is, but even so:

- Add wire from Alt CASE to Chassis as ground wire.
- Clean and recondition all battery posts, cable ends, and clamps. This
includes the places the ground cable straps onto the chassis under the
battery. (Yes it's inconvenient.)
- Clean to shiny metal and coat with something like dielectric grease or
at least Vaseline. A light coat.
- Consider the ground 'roses' under the dash, places shaped like a cup
with many tabs or a flower. It is where a lot of your smaller ground
wires come together in the interior. Common location are under the dash
on the left side, in the rear quarter behind the panel, behind the right
hand headlight, etc. These need some TLC too.

Now, all of this is related to gaining back the free flow of electrons,
but nothing will replace knowing you have a good output from the Alt.
Brushes get worn down, voltage regulator go bad, etc.

ANother thing to consider is a short somewhere; with the car turned off
do an amp test between the post and a disconnected battery cable. Lots
of juice? Just a trickle?

hth,
TBerk
