  my '84 has this problem, however not till the point that it jams. it
does pop up slightly, however, when the doors are closed, or used to. i
had to replace the right arm that controls the tilt and slide of the
sunroof and my "popping" went away (had to replace it because it broke
in two). while maybe not the easiest thing, the cheapest thing to do
would be to remove the two liners of the sunroof and make everything is
whole and intact. then take a screwdriver and tighten things up (be
careful not to adjust the heights while tightening). see if that helps.
