A2 seat modification for MK1

I'm in the process of modifying a set of nice A2 (i think) seats for my 81.
They're black leather (probably fake) with a grey centers. And i was taking
them apart and realized that they're heated (bonus!). They were in a Jetta
that had a 16V, but there was so much screwy with that car that we don't
really know what it was. Anyways, they match my interior perfectly now that
I'm swapping in the black to replace the beige. If anyone needs brown MKI
interior pieces, let me know (the dash is cracked horribly).

So on to my question.. I'm using the tops as a direct bolt onto the normal
A1 seat base. I've welded the bars from the A2 seats onto the A1 frame for
the bolsters. However, the foam is worn away in the usual door side
bolster, down to the bar. Anyone have a quick fix? I was thinking of
spraying expanding foam sealer stuff on top then shaping with the grinder
after its done expanding. I don't have to sit on this part so it can be a
bit stiff, plus it would be more durable. Comments?
