front bearings

ok, i did rear bearings last night, piece of cake with a hammer and punch
now, can the same thing be done to change a front bearing??? is there a similar type seal i would
have to get as well?
how much harder is it than the rear, and is it even the same type of bearing (remotely)??? i thoguht
it was all one sealed thing or something.
