Re: Rare EuroStyle Scirocco - Anybody know this guy?
Hi,
<http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=593217357>
actually I don't know what should be really "Euro" at this car,
except from the fact that it was made in Europe.
I'm not saying that the car looks bad
( maybe he should get a smaller rear bumper though )
but it looks like he just uses "Euro" because it sells better on eBay then.
A german licence plate alone doesn't make a Euro-style car hehehe :-)
personally I don't care at all about the "Euro" hysteria ;-)
I still drive my 16V with the non-"Euro" 40mm intake manifold
( as I prefer low end torque in that car )
and I even removed the "Euro" headlights from my GTX and inserted
the smaller double square "US-style" lights instead.
( of course H4 / H3 and no sealed beams )
The quality of the light output was in no way worse than with the "Euros".
and after I put those pictures
http://www.scirocco2.de/giftig02.jpg
http://www.scirocco2.de/giftig05.jpg
on my website, I got some e-mails from German Scirocco-fans
how cool that looks like and that they will do it also...
What I want to say is that some items ( like Euro-lights )
might not necessary look better but they're atttractive to some people
just because they're rare.
( Think of the rare & wanted "TV-set "-square headlights for the Mk1 ,
I prefer the round ones much more as they IMHO simply look better )
Greets from Euro :-)
Dirk
