Use A2 GTI springs.   you'll need to steal the top spring perch, and cut the
springs, but its dirt cheap and works really well.  I'm running boge progas
with them and I've done a few test jumps and it didn't bottom out.  BTW the
car is an 84 rabbit GTI as well.
