fog lamp questions

first, what years did the scirocco's come with factory fog lamps?  second,
were they relayed?  and third, i've got aftermarket fog lamps in my car, can
i just hook up a factory fog lamp switch in line with them, or is there
something special that i have to do witht the wiring?
