Uh-huh.  Of course, with a drag coefficient of .38 on the Mk2 and .40 on 
the Mk2, you'd be able to do 160mph in a completely frictionless 
environment.  However, in the real world, it'd take about 400 horsepower to 
get a Scirocco to 160.

Honestly, it's doubtful that a stock VW engine would be powerful enough to 
spin the wheels and driveline at 160mph if the car was jacked up in the 
air.  So I don't think that you have to worry much about that, 0.71 or not.


FWIW I have a 0.75 on my otherwise stock AGB.  Love it on the highway (4000 
= 95mph, 3000 = ~70mph).  Around town, I generally stay in 4th.  I can 
shift into 5th at 3000rpm in 4th, which is about 42mph.  Anything below and 
it bogs.  The engine's not really in its powerband with the 0.75 until 
65mph -- so slow highway driving, it's a little sluggish, but that's why I 
have 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
