YES.  I have a 16v so I already have the larger master cylinder, but I added SS brake lines a while back (one of my first mods) and LOVE THEM.  It is a great mod, that isn't too expensive (get'em from Potterman).  I noticed much firmer pedal feel.  I love them.  Did I say that enough times?

I imagine it would help.  But, if you are considering getting another MC, why not upgrade to the Corrado MC. which is a little bigger than the 16v cylinder?  I think Peter has a line on them??  My car stops on a dime so I don't need it, but if you are going through the trouble anyway....

You could also get slotted rotors (I have these) and get good brake pads (I have Ferodos).
