RE: Soft wheels feedback & conclusion
Ben,
Good choice of tires, let me know if you have a hard time finding them, I
know a source.
Correction though, the tire size is 215/45/15's.
The Toyo's are just awesome on both wet and dry. IMHO worth the price.
According to Toyo the recommended rim width's for this size is 7-8".

I like the 7" because it helps protect the rim a little, 8" might go out
beyond the tire.
Stick with me Ben, I'll get you into all kinds of trouble
Whaaaahaaaaahaaaaa.

I've got 13x6" BBS/Mahle's w/ 185/60 Yokohama 008RSII's. I was
running
these all the time, but I didn't drive the car much so I wasn't
worried
about wearing them out too fast. The real drawback to these tires
is that
they're too small for street driving. Even with the Quaife I can
break
traction at will. The gearing advantage was great on the autocross
course,
but I need more meat. I love the look of 13's but it's so damn hard
to find
decent tires. Now Randy block goes and puts monster 215/40 15's on
his car
and gets me all excited for huge tires. I'm thinking about getting
15x8"
wheels and running the same tires as Randy, the Toyo T1-S.
