Re: Wheel protection...was: how is this setup
I waxed the wheels on my wife's GTI after getting them really clean. I
found that Meguiar's cleaner wax does an excellent job of getting the last
little bits of dirt off of them, but they are no easier to clean with the
wax on them. I thought I'd give it a better test by only waxing one of the
wheels, and, while you could blame my imagination, it seemed that the waxed
wheel was actually harder to clean after two weeks on the road. Maybe the
dirt stuck to the wax when the wheel got hot or something? I don't know. I
do know that I won't bother waxing them ever again.
Has anyone used any of these spray-on wheel cleaners that you supposedly
don't have to touch? Like Randy, I haven't used them because I'm afraid of
what they will eventually do to the clear coat on the wheels. Any
longish-term users out there?
Sincerely;
Brian Haygood
