The main reason you don't see any info about this is most folks use just
the 'bubble block' bottom end and doft the head in favor of a CIS based
topper- 84 GTI with it's big valves being the classic example.
I believe you will be grafting in a lot more of the donor Audi if you
retain the head. Good news is the height of the 3A is the same as the
orig., means you don't need a longer down pipe. Also, since you might be
pulling the head off something, it's easier to get the valve job and
rebuild we all know we need but never get to. Bad news is the need to
graft a few bits together to make it all work.
