You're on your own there mate - I get enough commercial shit in my mailbox 
without everyone and his donkey trying to sell me parts for my VW, 
especially since 99% of it will be for U.S. only deals and there are 
actually listers who don't live in the land of the free.
Since it is too easy to disguise commercial selling as private enterprise 
(and I'm not pointing any fingers-life's too short), I'd guess that the only 
solution is to either ban group buy and other such stuff from the list, 
where it's obvious you are buying from a commercial source, either directly 
or indirectly, or clearly mark mail subjects. Personally I think a better 
alternative would be to have a page on scirocco.org to allow people to post 
deals they want to set up and then people can e-mail privately.  If it could 
be done, something similar for up-coming shows/social events would be good, 
as it's a real drag for us non-american, (or just plain not interested), 
listers when the list is swamped for weeks on end with 'Cincy 2000' or 
'Waterfest' posts. I'm not saying 'ban any mention of shows or whatever' or 
anything like that but it would be nice to keep the proportion of car 
related (or at least something with a bit of humour ;) ) posts a bit higher.
