Once it's out, usually a good cleaning and some
silicon lube free it up nicely.  I finish up with
spray lithium grease (the Tonic Of Life for VW's).  Be
sure to lube the lock mechanism in the door as well.

The handles are prone to breaking at the mounting
point near the rearward screw.  Replacements are about
$20.
