What size spare tire have you got? The later cars, w/ transfer pumps, have a
smaller well  with room only for a space saver spare. You also get more fuel
capacity (13.7 vs. 10.9 Gal).

Also, count how many wires feed into the tank, if there are two wires, you
haven't got one. There should be a third purple (Bentley, 85 MY) wire to
feed +12V to the transfer pump.
