Re: 2 Liters of LOVE!

Boint,

1. Is your Fan a two wire or three wire job? The 2 wire ones are single
speed, the later ones that came w/ A/C had the silver can type relay on
the fan shroud and were two speed- sometimes the extra speed kicks in
like when you turn the A/C on.

So, you need the wiring in the loom (from the A/C) to help kick in the
extra winding but minimally you would need a radiator thermo with three
connections to match the later fan.

2. Getting air out of the system is usually done by back filling the
block with pre-mixed coolant/ water via the UPPER hose, then topping
off. You want to get the air out and fluid on the back side of the
thermostat down on the bottom of the engine.

The fan also has a fuse in line (in the fuse block) but you can wire it
directly- Battery HOT 12v - Weather Proof Inline Fuse - Thermo in Rad -
Fan - Battery Neg Post. This simple example doesn't take into account
the extra wiring associated with the A/C and a two speed fan, nor does
it incorporate any Run On function except for the heat in the Rad & the
Thermo, etc.
