(semi OT)observations and impressions, part 2, (driving compare, weight)

Hi again. (car's a 87 16V)
2. Weighed the Rocc at the quarry and it came out 1070 kg, or 2356 lbs., just
about what it should be (low tank, 2L, no A/C or driver, sunroof)
3. Spent the day Sunday driving for a variety of reasons, first the Rocc, then
the TDI New Beetle (cute car?) then the PTCruiser, all 5 spd. the Beetle
really didn't feel that much different "seat of the pants" than the Rocc,
(power to weight ratio is about half the Rocc's), but the speedo told a
different story. Proves that torque is the seat of the pants feel, as they
have said regarding the VR6, and here the TDI rules. But the ticket getting
belongs to the Rocc, and it sure has more trouble with traction,(lighter),
spins well into second if you romp on it. As for the Cruiser, it feels heavy,
it has a (lower revving) 150hp DOHC 16V engine, but is a porker at 3100 lbs.
Proves a 16V does not equal a 16V, but you already knew that.
