here in the rust belt, will never put on anything but new again.  Have 
eaten too many defective rebuilts.  No cure when the worm gear? that 
drives the parking brake mechanism corrodes.  So, if you put on new, I 
try to lube with heavy grease around that Bowden cable pivot bolt.  


RE; the large margin on 
brake rebuilds.  Well, I spent the ~$20 for a front bushing & bolt kit once 
'cause I hadn't plannned on it and I wanted the kit NOW.  That's how 
come the can sell those.  Now if your car is a secondary transport and 
you can wait.... 

Derrick:  On your quest for 4wd Scirocco.  Consider buying Audi Coupe 
Quattro w/ 20V engine or if you're loaded an RS2?  Engineering has 
already been done, but the cars are complex and costly enough to maintain 
you can keep yourself occupied no problem.  And if they are not complex 
enough, drop in the turbo 20V.
