 Yes, I agree that the manual cable is the way to go...I replaced the cable
on my 16v with a manual cable and it has worked great!

Just tell the parts guy that you have a Scirocco 8v...I think that all years
would have the same manual adjust cable.

Please correct me if I'm wrong here...
