Anyone have slotted rotors? Need info...
I've got my ADD/cheapass brain working overtime again,
and this time I want to take my four nice shiny new
rotors to the basement lab at work (where a nice CNC
mill awaits, with which I am fully familiar) and,
well, slot my own rotors.
I'm needing to know how wide and deep the slots are,
and what the contour of the slot cross-section is (in
other words, do I use a regular endmill or a
ballnose?).
Then I can come up with a purty pattern and mill me up
some unique rotors. And put them on Victor the Famous
"Cheapass Special" Scirocco (like a Rolex on a hobo).
Hopefully I actually do it, and you can see 'em at
Dauns' in June!
Any pattern ideas appreciated. A Star Of David might
be nice. Or teardrops, to match the wheels? Or spell
"Scirocco"? (but then it would read
"sciroccosciroccoscirocco" as you read it while the
car was moving, and everybody would get dizzy. And
I'd have to spell it backwards on the right-hand
rotors....forget that one)
Sorry, Cab Sav again.
TIA,
=====
