Jeez, that motor had better come with a talented hooker and a room for
that kind of money. ;^) I paid $350 for a 2.0 8v shortblock and about
$400 for a 16v unit. Good 8v heads add about $150 and I'm *selling* a
16v head for about the same. For that matter I've got an entire 1.8l 16v
longblock that I'm selling for less than $200. Furthermore, Parts Place
is not the grail of VW suppliers. I've heard plenty of bad news about them.
If you're anywhere near NJ, I've got all sorts of connections for you.
