10% more cross-sectional area should make some difference, but nothing like the 56% increase you get going from 40-50.

Now that you mention it, I believe I've heard something like that too. Hmmm...I wonder if 2mm could possibly make much difference. I wouldn't think so.

The Sciroccos are 40mm, the Passat was 42mm, and I beleive the Golfs/Jettas
were 40mm...possibly 42mm
