I think the '83 Scirocco 1.8L came with the 2H, as well...

Phil, you need a 4K, since it is easier to swap in the 100mm CV flanges, 
and you can use the 80% Peloquin kit on it.
Or you could use the 2H 3.94:1 final gear on your 16V tranny, like Brett
did.
