Number of common water leaky spots in A1 Chassis VWs:
1. Radio Antenna Lead. Caulk port in firewall with silicon.
2. Rain Tray (eng. bay) full of debris. Clean out leaves & gunk from two
drain tubes, one each side.
3. Front Window Seal. I'm still looking for the 'more like tar' type
stuff to slip under the seal. I have been retrofitting the Silicon
Sealant stuff under the thing but this is not optimal.
In a nutshell, if you get a popsicle stick, wrap it in gauze, clean
under the seal around & around, then stick the tip of the sealant tube
UNDER the lip of the rubber both inside circumference (seal to glass) &
outside (seal to car body) circumferences (on the outside of the window,
not inside the car). Let excess squeeze out and wipe smooth before it sets.
Other things that leak are the inner door panel liners and sun roof
drain tubes getting clogged (not directly associated with your troubles).
