Re: clutch recommend for 4K

Hey Mike,

It was a stock 16v disc, not the super set. I was surprised to see the damage to the center section of the Sachs disc. Pieces of metal lost around the springs. In fact, before I dropped the tranny I thought I had another SMS, even though I used the new velocity diff bolt kit. Turns out a piece of the disc went through the diff housing!

The velocity uses 6 springs there instead of 4. It looks as though it can't fail the same way.

I'm not familiar with the super set so my curiosity is aroused.

Joe,
Check out the Velocity clutch disc too. I use their lightened flywheel and
disc. I compared a Sachs and the Velocity disc. Velocity's had a more stout
center section where the Sach's have failed for me. It's been 8 months now
and
no complaints.

Which Sachs disk were you using? The A1 style or the one like comes in the
super set with the nickel center?
