  Sounds like what you want is donor car for your '84 or a project car.
That's a far cry from a state-inspection-passing daily driver.  You'll
probably find a donor/project for $900 or so.
 When anyone asks the list to look for a car for them, we should try to be
very explicit about what we want.  Otherwise, frustrations could
ensue.....:)   Peace.
