ETKA under WinXP?

Hey all.
I've made the mistake and upgraded to WinXP (not that bad so far....I 
guess) and I'm trying to run ETKA5.  I uninstalled my old install (under 
WinMe) and reinstalled it under XP.  I try to run it, I get the 
'Hardlock nor present' message, and so I try to install Hardlock.  I get 
to the blue install screen, and that's it.  I have to Control-Alt-Delete 
out of it 'cause it ain't responding.  
Any help?
