I was wondering the same thing.  Maybe since the parts are so expensive from 
the dealer (hell, it cost me around $135 just for ONE roof rubber rail for 
my 16v), then folks will get the parts how they can and that includes 
stealing.  There are other enthusiasts out there that clearly don't have the 
respect for private property the rest of us do.  Very unfortunate.
