I couldn't find a short shift rod....
I had the same problem with my setup, and it wasn't the shift rods.
I released the clamp on the relay bracket, pulled the shift rod that goes
to the shifter, re-installed it, so that I had the proper "stop finger to
gate distance at 15mm"...
It worked perfectly!
