[tech] vacuum hose/motor alignment ?'s

ok, so my 2.0L 16v swap from hell is *almost* done. just need to hook up the 
plug wires, a rad hose, turn the key and (hopefully) drive into the sunset. 
two questions:
1. i'm missing a vacuum hose on the back of the air intake boot. it's the 
little white plastic kind (i think) that has a rubber elbow at the end. it's 
on the driver's side of a fabric type vacuum connection next to it. where 
does the other end go? i suspect it connects to the air inlet box thing 
below the radiator, since i managed to break another hose there. what does 
this do?
2. how can i align the engine in the mounts? bentley looks tedious. i know 
you people have a shortcut.

more details when/if i ever get this thing driving...
