I think a sure fire death sentence for the ODometer is
to reset the trip OD while moving . . .

so I've heard (not had that many probs with odometers
over the years - except "inherited" screwed up ones).

The OD on the '85 I recently bought does not work :(

But the Sciroccos that I bought fairly new (my '75, my
original '81S) never had od problems . . .
