seat upgrade for 87 scirocco

Hey all,
     Has anyone swapped out the front seats in their scirocco with seats from
another model VW?  I need new seats, and have seen good deals on Passat,
Corrado, and even Beatle seats.  Would these be a real PITA or would some
adapter plates take care of it?  If you have done this would you do it again,
any tricks/issues to be aware of?  $450 for power leather Passat seats is
easier to justify than new recaros.
