Lots of small annoying stuff

This car is making me nuts, it is back to the "not as powerful" mode (why
can't it stay in the powerful mode for any length of time??), and today we had
it out for a run and the side rearview fell off (repairable, no biggie, but
annoying on the four lane roads).

Then when I got it home, the headlights wouldn't turn off. After removing the
switch to turn them off, I discovered that it was heat welded the plastic
together, in the "on" position. Is it safe to assume a new switch will correct
this or is the rest of the light wiring circuit likely toast and the real
cause of the over heating (this is the stock set, the headlights are awful,
and were dimmer than usual, likely not enough current since the power was busy
cooking the switch?).

Also, I have one relay that gets too hot to touch, but the relay diagram in my
Bentley has way more relays than my car really has so I'm not sure which
circuit this relay is for. It is in (I believe) the third spot from the left,
on top, the first spot where there are two relays in a column, it has one
below it, and a blank space (top and bottom) to it's left. And what causes the
relay to heat up anyway (I know - resistance, but why? Is the relay crap?)

Another question, the body shop routed the drain hose for the sunroof down
into the rear hatch area, which I discovered after driving in the rain (wet
back carpet) Do these tubes just run down inside the fender, the water seems
to run out there but it is not the greatest place for water to dry out from (
rust???)

And why does the (inside air) fan raise the rpm at idle. I understand it is
suppoased to do this in AC mode, but it also does it intermittantly at other
times. The electrcal gremlins are starting to show up bigtime.

Thanks in advance, sorry to whine about the small stuff but just appreciate
the expert advice.
