Re: VDO dual oil pressure sender hook up
A couple thoughts:
1.) It doesn't matter where you put the sending unit, so long as it taps
into an oil passage.
2.) What are you looking for information about? If you want to keep tabs on
peak pressure in the system, mount it down low on the oil filter flange,
just downstream of the pump. If you rather be sure that you are getting
sufficient pressure at the nether reaches of the system (for cam
lubrication, for example) mount it up high, on the head.
I would suggest that unless you have a brand new oil pump and are worried
that excess pressure is going to damage something or blow by, I would want
to be sure that I am getting sufficient pressure up top so that I know I am
not scorching bearings.
