1980 Scirocco "S"? to be purchased

Hi Volks:

I am about to buy a 1980 Scirocco. Please help a newbie, by answering 2
questions, even as briefly as yes/no.

1.    Can a 1980 Scirocco be an "S" model? Youthful owner claims it is.

2.    Please provide me with the URL of any sites that have procedures for
engine swaps. The 1980 has a 1.6 8 valve, with a questionalbe head, water
pump and oil pump.
