I tried a GLi brake booster and I couldn't get that to work in my '79, I
think the push rod length was different...
The 16V Scirocco BB will work with the older pedal cluster, but you'll
have to install a brake switch, since the '85 and up, use a switch on the
pedal cluster. IIRC, the Mad Bastard uses this setup...
I installed the 10.1"/8.9" brakes with a brand new Ate stock '81 M/cyl on
my RIP '81 Scirocco and it worked out great!
13/16" or 20.6375mm if my math is right, isn't that much smaller than
22mm...
When I installed the 10.1"/8.9" brakes on my '79, I installed a 16V
Scirocco pedal cluster and BB, with a new 7/8" '90 Corrado M/cyl.
