The expansion bottle setup, being a later development, is supposed to be
'better'.
- It has a greater 'bank' of material (coolant) to soak up heat.
- The coolant flows continually through the expansion bottle. (Among
other things, Less air bubbles in the block after a refill.)
It's considered an upgrade to install an overflow setup, it needs the
different metal coolant bypass pipe down low as well as the large and
small hoses.
The early rads have an expansion chamber built into the endcaps.
As for the dual fans & low temp thermo it sounds great but remember it
is possible to overcool a motor too.
You'll want these qualities in a coolant system; fast warm up, even
cooling (no hot spots), large heat soak capacity, smooth transitions in
temps (no spikes), and stock parts it's made up from (16v hose? wtf?)
