Nope, you are incorrect. The knock sensor system can be retrofitted to any
of the early motors with slightly varying amounts of difficulty. Pretty much
the only thing necessary for fitment is the threaded hole on the block for
mounting the probe. (Heh heh. I said "mounting the probe. Whoa! Heh heh..")
Case in point: I set the Warpig up with a CIS-lambda plus knock sensor
configuration and it never ran better before on pump gas.

If the motor is less than say 9:1 CR then I would not bother unless you're
going with forced induction, nitrous, etc.
