According to my own research on ETKA, a 4K does indeed have a 3.94 (67
tooth ring, 17 tooth pinion).  Don't know where the 3.89 came from, AFA
I could tell those were only F* trannies (FF, FO, etc.) But ETKA does
have errors!  Also according to ETKA, apps were '10/83 - 2/84 Jetta,
8/82 - 7/83 Rabbit, 8/83 - 6/84 Scirocco.

Keep the 4K!  Bolt kit it if you can.
