Injector seals? Blown head gasket? I've had the same symptoms for both of
these problems in my 8v's before.

Hey all,

Thought I'd take a break for lunch.  I installed a fuel
pump in the free '84 this morning - no start.  Discovered
the pre-pump wasn't pumping (3/84 car) so put a used one
in.  Car proceeded to fire up but then attempt to idle
around 200 rpm, then die.  After starting it again with the
same results, I held the accelerator to the floor.  The car
would then idle very roughly at 1000 rpm.  Remove foot, and
it goes back to 200 rpm or so.

Just doing a little brain-picking while having some lunch -
anyone have any ideas?  I'm guessing it's a fuel pressure
issue of some sort.
