Alarm Removal?

Ok, so there is an alarm in my 88 16v from the previous owner, and I
would like to remove it.

I removed the siren, and clipped the red wire that goes to it, but I
can't seem to easily trace that wire once it goes into the firewall. 
So I can't locate the actual alarm.  Any ideas?

First person to give me the right clue can have dibs on all the parts. 
Its a Viper Alarm I believe, witha  remote.  I have no clue if it works
(never tried it).  Just pay for shipping.

How does that sound?
