considering new changes to engine...
Alright,
after working on mostly external part of the car, I am now after listening
to all the mailing list
"pros" on engines getting an idea of what I can/cannot do with my current
engine.
I have a few questions though are not clear in my head.
1. what would be the advantage of putting a 2.0l 8v atop my JH block instead
of keeping
the current 1.8L 8v head?
2. can a 2.0L 16v head be used on a 1.8L "JH" engine.. what changes would it
bring to
the rest of the car (electrical?, cis vs cis-e??) if possible at all.?
3. I do not want to make a dragster out of my car, and I am happy with the
95HP it currently has
but changing engine is what I am aiming ( even if it mean simply
reworking the engine to
"new/refurbed" condition stock (I will not change for a full blown 16v or
VR6..)
Yes I am trying to acheive a little more power without having to rewire
the ENTIRE car.
what options do I have on a 8v that could help improve "power/torque" on
it.
4. I keep hearing about webber carbs, heard alot of good and bad about them,
are they worth it?
5. seen something interesting for 16v Heads (www.badger5.co.uk) and I was
wondering if anyone has experienced this set up ?
abstain from flaming I am inetresting in technical information, not, I am
stupid and should
just get myself a 16v conversion and get on with my life. thank you.
