your primary concern should be the struts/shocks, not necessarily the springs.
i think there was something about having a specific strut with lowered springs is bad (strut
operating in the 'stiff' band all the time, when it shouldnt be, cause the strut was designed for
stock springs).
the rieger has neuspeed softsports and koni adjustables. with the konis on soft the car does ride
very nice. does a good job of damping the bumps out (highway), yet keeps it taught in the hard
corners in the city. it was actually comfortable going the 750 miles up to waterfest last week.
putting the konis at so much as 1/4 stiff and highway trips become car-rattling events.
the only way springs will make a ride extremely hard is if the springs themselves are very hard
(i.e. race springs).
another important point is where poly is on the car. right now i have poly only on the rear of the
rieger, and although i may put poly up front later on, it WILL NOT be the upper strut mounts. Those
puppies are the main thing that determines just how much of the bumps you (and your rocco) feel.
