Re: [tech]: where do these parts go?

ok. nearing the end of my 2.0L swap experience. a couple of things that
don't have homes:
1. ground cable from battery. i planned on replacing it, so i didn't note
where it went exactly. i want to say the bolt that holds the pass. mount
bracket to the tranny??
It goes from the -ve terminal to a spot just underneath the battery tray to one of the big bolts that hold the trans to the engine. When I did my swap I replaced the -ve battery cable and did not attach the cable to the spot under the battery tray and bolted the cable to the back of the block. I have had no problems. Just make sure that the connections are good and clean (good idea to use a conductivity enhancer/goo that you can get at any auto parts store). I also have extra grounds from the alternator to the -ve battery post, and from -ve battery post to the bolt that holds the coil to the firewall. She fires up quick every time.
2. big red cable from alternator. i think it bolts to the same post on the
starter as the pos. cable from the battery?
Yes
3. little a/c hose holder. a little c clamp type thing that the a/c hoses
clip into on their way around the coolant hose. somewhere near the
alternator, but where?
If I remember correctly it connects to the bolts/nuts that hold the upper intake manifold to the lower intake manifold.
4. coolant hose from the head to the bottom of the coolant res. yeah, i know
where it should go, but where did i put that sob? can i just find the right
size pep boy hose? it looks to be a different diameter at the head than at
the coolant res though.
Dunno about that, but there is no reason you could fab something using 2 different pieces of hose and a reducer.
