Water temp sender hookup

Where does one hook up a wire to the water temp sender?  Looks like you need
a special connector to fir over the sender.  I haven't opened the package to
check it out yet.  The part number is vdo 323-088 and it is for a 250 degree
F. gauge.   Just making sure I have the right part.
