         Yeah, Josh contacted me off-list and may well be able to help out, 
which is great.  The book value on the car, not adjusted for mileage, is 
indeed $2200 -- so you were right on.  In this case, the amount I'm paying 
for insurance won't make a difference because it's the other guy's 
insurance I'm dealing with.  If that doesn't work out, I'll run it all 
through my insurance, which would be a help.  I have 100/300 coverage with 
*NO* deductibles, uninsured motorist, under-insured motorist, extra medical 
payment insurance, extra property damage waiver, and a spotless record 
including an accident-free discount -- so I've been a great client for them 
-- the amount I've paid in insurance in the past 3 years on that car is a 
whole shitload more than it would cost them to lay out the money from this 
claim and then get it back from Erie Insurance.

I'm fully prepared to retain legal representation for this case, though -- 
because I will *not* have an R-Titled car, they will not get away with 
giving me less than the damage is, and I will not accept any bullshit from 
them..

What a pain in the ass.
