Help! Need a Down pipe fix!

I have an 86 16v Rocco that has a rusted out flex pipe area at the front of 
the down pipe section.  Is there a Cheaper fix than replacing the whole down 
pipe n converter at $350-$400.  If not does anyone know who has the best 
deal on the down pipe?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
