Julie, I can take a picture of the way I put the Golf 16V harness in my car.
I actually wound up using a '98-up Passat grommet that's traingualr shaped,
and ran all the wires through one hole.  It doesn't fully seal around the
wires, but I think it's up high enough on the firewall that it shouldn't be
a problem.  The only hard part was getting the hole the right shape and size
to fit the grommet
