RE: Somber, but interesting.
I have seen four sciroccos in accidents and can testify I would not like to
be in any of them. Locally last year there were four guys in one Scirocco
(know druggies around my area) that were on a back road doing excessive
speeds and hit a van all four passengers died on impact as the car ripped in
half and blowup.
When I was in HS one of my lifting partners sideswiped a pole and killed his
best friend. I saw the car and would say it was in much worse shape than
most cars at 45MPH!
Last year 6 people died in sciroccos alone that I knew personally!
P.S. Please do not comment as to how they should have died A. for being drug
pushers and B. for going well over 100MPh I remember a comment coming back
that said they deserved it. I don't think anyone deserves to burn to
death...even believe it a bit sick to think that anyone would.

Agreed....As a firefighter/EMT, I can definitely vouch for VW's safety
factor...The new ones anyway. (Bugs are not that safe...but, they are also
40+ years old...) I thankfully have not seen any scirocco's in any wrecks,
but a few Rabbits, and the A1 chassy seems to hold up well to frontal
impacts and torsional stress (You didnt wanna see that one)
